I worked in a private international school. I was the grade 1-4 ESL English teacher and kindergarten teacher. I taught 40 minute classes, a total of around 21 classes per working week. I used the school’s Cambridge curriculum to plan and teach my lessons alongside a Chinese teacher.
I had to take part and help plan the school’s shows and activities and help the school create a cross culture environment.
I was responsible for training the new teachers and helping the school improve their English curriculum.
I also had another job teaching online, due to COVID.
2019/08 – 2022/09-Skyeng English School-Online (Russia)
I worked for an online teaching school that tutors adults worldwide. The school has a great online platform with 1000s of lessons. I tutored students and helped students pass exams such as: IELTS, TOEFL and others. Lessons were 1 on 1 and sometimes I conducted group seminars for students and workshops for new teachers. I also helped develop their platform as I have some coding experience.
I taught children English in an after-school English club. Classes were based on age and ability. I received intense training throughout my employment as I had no experience and I developed a wide range of skills and techniques. I taught group lessons (10 students).
I used company textbooks and materials, but I had to write my lesson plans and plan games and activities myself. I had to call parents to discuss issues and performance, do demo lessons and hand out fliers to promote business
