We cater to the natural needs of children by designing corresponding courses with physical exercise, character education, and exploration activities that let children be happy to exercise, explore, think, express, create, cooperate, and help others. Under the influence of the curriculum, we will cultivate our students to become lifelong exercisers, responsibility takers, problem solvers, and graceful-life performers.
Zengcheng is a district—the third level of administrative division in China—located in the eastern part of Guangzhou municipality in Southern China. Its mild climate and fertile land make it suitable for tropical and subtropical crop growth. Guangzhou is a huge city, and one of its districts is the same size as Houston.
Population: There are around 1 million people living here—that’s as many as there are in San Jose, California.
Scenery: Zengcheng, which literally means “an increasing city,” certainly lives up to its name. It fuses an ever-developing cityscape with the ageless beauty of majestic mountains. Feast your eyes on the colorful city lights, dancing along the calming contours of surrounding hills. Once you leave the city, the untouched countryside will soothe any traveler’s wandering soul.
History: Originally inhabited by a mixture of tribal groups known to the Chinese as the Baiyue (“Hundred Yue”), Zengcheng and the rest of Guangdong province were always frontier regions. Gradually, it saw a steady trickle of Han migrants until the Tang dynasty, when there ceased to be a separation between the “Yue” and “Han.”
Claim to Fame: It’s easy to understand why Zengcheng garnered the title of “The Most Blissful City in China” in 2009. The district is abundant in fields, ponds, villages, and forests—all the elements of a traditional Southern Chinese landscape. Zengcheng is especially renowned for its delicious lychees, as well as for sustaining the rich heritage and customs of local communities.
Food: Famous Zengcheng dishes include ‘Paitan’ grass jelly dessert and the ‘Three Rivers’ beef dish. Zengcheng is also known for the production of lychees.
Where did the Overseas Chinese go? Emigration from Zengcheng County began during the Qing dynasty. Some of the first emigrants left in the aftermath of the Opium Wars. Many of them first travelled to Southeast Asia and later to Australia and New Zealand. They worked as miners or merchants, whatever would help provide them a living. For example, there is the success story of the two Panyu natives Chen Rongda and Chen Rongqiu. The two men of Xintang New Street conducted business between Hong Kong and the Americas. They helped a number of their fellow villagers to travel to Hong Kong to do business and earn a living. Chen Rongda and Chen Rongqiu later relocated to the United States and are known for earning vast amounts of wealth.
