The Beijing and Nantong areas of China. Currently, the group has 11 campuses: four international schools, two bilingual schools for Chinese students, and five Chinese-only schools. Currently
We are embarking on a strategy to grow into more campuses and become a leading preschool and kindergarten group in its host cities. We understand that great teaching is
essential to achieve its strategy and is seeking dynamic, engaging educators to be a part of it.
The international campuses of the US offer an International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program, with strong STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Maths) and academic English programs to facilitate learning outcomes. The foreign English-speaking teacher is the lead teacher, having in-class language support from Chinese Mandarin-speaking teachers. In doing so, the lead teacher is expected to fulfill the following duties and responsibilities.
Duties & Responsibilities #
– Take responsibility for every student’s well-being and ensure a safe, secure learning environment.
– Design and deliver engaging lesson plans in alignment with the BIS curriculum and policies.
– Differentiate and support the learning needs of every student.
– Assess, record, and report on student academic and social development and progress, and establish mitigation plans when necessary.
– Engage with parents in a positive manner in person and over social media, keeping them well-informed as individuals and groups on classroom activities, school developments, and student progress.
– Always search for and identify new ways to keep students engaged and excited about learning.
– Liaise with teachers in lower- and upper-year groups to ensure continuity of student progress.
– Engage in regular collaborative discussions with teachers to continuously improve the learning environment and teaching approaches.
– Be informed of and participate where appropriate in all school developments, activities, and events.
– Ensure that the classrooms are well-maintained and decorated according to academic and seasonal themes.
– Resource the classrooms within budgetary limits.
– Liaise regularly with the school leadership and the group’s academic leadership team.
– Attend parent meetings, staff meetings, and internal professional development training.
– Organize trips and events to support student learning.
– Arrive at school promptly according to BIS policies and dress appropriately, prepared to greet students and parents upon arrival.
Qualifications #
– Native English speaker or TEFL/TOEFL certification for non-native English speakers.
– Authenticated Bachelor’s Degree, in early years education preferred.
– Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of English-language learning and teaching
– TEFL certificate and authentication or reference letter for two years of teaching experience
– Criminal background check and authentication
Package Information #
– Full-time, 8:00 a.m.– 5:00 p.m., Monday–Friday with one hour lunch break and one hour class preparation.
– Chinese government holidays will be observed, plus three paid days off for Christmas.
– Permanent employment subject to a three-month probationary period.
– Work visa (teaching visa).
– Minimum one school year commitment.
– Accommodation allowance
– Base salary negotiable (depends on the qualification). 19-23k after tax
– Housing allowance: 15,000 RMB/year for the Nantong campus
The Promise #
– We promise to provide its teachers with the resources, tools, and training required to meet student learning outcomes.
– We promise to ensure that all teachers receive the best onboarding experiences, from support and facilitation of acquiring visas, arrival in host cities, assistance in finding and moving into housing, language translation support to address issues related to the initial settling-in period, and proper orientation to the school’s curriculum, policies, and procedures.
